Awana Clubs

Awana Club is an international, nondenominational ministry whose focus is to bring children to Christ and train them to serve Him. Each week features a different theme and Clubbers are encouraged to join in and earn points towards the great Awana Store for their participation.  Themes such as "Crazy Hairdo" and "Pie the Commander" are favorites among Clubbers. Children ages three through grade six are involved in scripture memorization, group lesson time, and game time.  The Awana Store is open once a quarter to give kids the chance to spend their hard-earned Awana dollars.

Awana Clubs begin on Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at Philadelphia Baptist Church!  Each session will be from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.  Click here to download the registration form. (It is in pdf format. You will need the free Adobe Reader software installed on your computer.  If you don't have it, you can download it by clicking on the Adobe icon on the left of this web page.)  Please complete it in full and return it to Commander Suzi Valentine at Philadelphia Baptist Church.  If you have questions, you may contact Suzi at autwinmom@mindspring.com or 256-442-9179.

Take a look at the Awana Clubs that will meet each week:

Puggles is an enriching program for pre-Cubbies kids who are older two-year-olds and younger three-year-olds (and would be in 2-K during the school year). Puggles presents basic biblical concepts: We are a unique creation of God and God loves us very much.
Kids ages four and five will have a great time learning Bible stories, playing, and singing songs. These little ones will even begin memorizing Bible verses as Cubbies.
Kindergarteners through second graders are collectively known as Sparkies.  By now, they've memorized a few verses and are really starting to get a feel for what the Bible has to say about life.
Boys and girls in grades three through six participate in Truth & Training Clubs. Scripture memorization remains a priority and council time continues to teach kids how to grow into godly young men and women. Game time is still a favorite as the kids enjoy some friendly competition.
Game Time is important to kids and each group gets a 20-30 minute game session each week. Awana games are designed to teach kids teamwork and sportsmanship, while allowing them to have fun and burn some energy.  Sprint Pin Pickup and Circle Relay are favorites. The Sparks love to play Sparky Crawl, Sparky Safari, Sparky Train, and Rabbit Hunt.  The older clubbers love to play Bean Bag Relay, Sprint Relay, Marathon Relay, Sprint Race, Balloon Relay, and North Pole/South Pole, just to name a few.
