Music Ministry

The Music Ministry at PBC begins with great congregational singing, led by Wayne Lochamy. There are several hymnals from which we may choose to sing...The Baptist Hymnal or Church Hymnal . But, more recently, we have been enjoying the songs of the second edition of Heavenly Highway Hymns. The first edition of HHH was published in 1956 and continues to be one of the most popular hymnals in its class. This second edition was compiled and published in 1989, with Ben L. Speer as the Special Project Coordinator and is available from Brentwood-Benson Music Publishing. From long-time standards like How Firm a Foundation and Victory in Jesus to gospel favorites such as Standing on the Solid Rock and Looking for a City... these songs make for a dynamic worship service.

Under the direction of Debbi Matthews, our Sanctuary Choir is large for a church our size! They are forever getting compliments about their sound and spiritual renditions of time honored melodies and contemporary gospel music. The choir rehearses on Sunday afternoons at 5:00 p.m. except for times when the choir is preparing an Easter or Christmas cantata and then they will rehearse at 4:00 p.m. Anyone who loves to sing and worship is invited to participate.

Our worship services are also graced by several in-house soloists including Lori Turner, Debbi Matthews, Jennifer Price, Jade Price, Kaitlin Wadkins, Heidi Chambers, and Wayne Lochamy. One of these individuals deliver an inspirational message in song each Sunday morning.
